Sun Mar 23 13:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Suryakumar Yadav Hints at Flexible Mumbai Indians Batting Order for IPL 2025 Clash with CSK
**Chennai, India** – Mumbai Indians stand-in captain Suryakumar Yadav hinted at a flexible batting order for the upcoming IPL 2025 match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), suggesting he might bat at his preferred number three position despite previously relinquishing it for young teammate Tilak Varma in the national team.
Yadav, who will lead MI in their opening game due to Hardik Pandya’s one-match ban, emphasized the team’s adaptability. He stated that both he and Varma are willing to shift positions depending on match situations. “You can expect flexibility in the batting order this season,” Yadav said. “Even I can bat at number three or five, and Tilak can bat at five. It’s that flexibility that we have in our team.”
He credited Varma’s hard work for prompting consideration of his position in the national team’s batting order. Yadav’s impressive IPL 2024 performance, where he scored 345 runs in 11 matches, further solidifies his importance to the team.
The MI captain also spoke highly of MS Dhoni, the CSK captain, expressing admiration for his longevity and influence on the game. “Who has controlled him for so many years? We’ve learned a lot from him, and we still do. Whenever we get a chance, we talk to him,” Yadav said, adding he was looking forward to meeting Dhoni again before the match, even though he will be leading against him. The highly anticipated clash between MI and CSK is scheduled for Sunday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
