BEE Secretary Milind Deora highlighted the initiative’s importance, emphasizing the significant consumer benefits and contribution towards achieving net-zero emission goals.
The push for energy-efficient cooling solutions is strongest in cities like Chennai, Tirupati, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. Visakhapatnam, a major industrial and commercial hub experiencing rapid energy consumption growth, is a key target for this initiative. The increased adoption of 5-star rated ACs is expected to significantly reduce energy consumption and contribute to Visakhapatnam’s aim of becoming a net-zero emissions city. The central government is actively supporting this nationwide campaign.
