**Hyderabad, March 21, 2025** – The Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad, is gearing up to host seven Indian Premier League (IPL) matches starting March 23. Rachakonda Police Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu announced extensive security measures to ensure the safety of players and spectators during the tournament.

Approximately 2,700 police personnel will be deployed, utilizing CCTV cameras, bomb disposal squads, and sniffer dogs. Strict security checks at the stadium’s gates will prohibit items such as laptops, cameras, and outside food. Mobile phone inspections will also be conducted. Dedicated teams will monitor ticket sales and address potential issues like eve-teasing. Five designated parking areas have been set up to manage traffic flow.

Commissioner Babu highlighted the deployment of a Joint Command and Control Room to monitor security footage and coordinate responses. He urged spectators to cooperate with security personnel and follow guidelines.

Significant traffic diversions will be in place around Uppal on March 23 for the Sunrisers Hyderabad versus Rajasthan Royals match, affecting heavy vehicles from 12 noon to 11:50 p.m. Specific diversion routes have been outlined for various approaching roads.
