**Bengaluru, March 22, 2025** – A 23-year-old hotel employee, Abdul Rehaman, was arrested in Bengaluru on Thursday for possessing an explosive substance. Acting on a tip-off from a hotel owner in Thanisandra, Sampigehalli Police raided the hotel and recovered a red, paste-like material wrapped in plastic from Rehaman. Preliminary investigations indicate the substance is sulphur powder, commonly used in the manufacture of firecrackers. Since Rehaman lacked the necessary license, he was charged under the Explosive Substances Act, 1908. Police are currently investigating the source of the explosive and Rehaman’s motives for possessing it.
