**Kozhikode, Kerala – March 22, 2025** – A special squad from the Kerala Excise department arrested P.V. Mirshad, a Thamarassery resident, on Friday, March 21, 2025, for his alleged involvement in a series of synthetic drug trafficking cases. Mirshad, also known as Masthan, was apprehended in Iringadanpally, Kozhikode, with 58 grams of MDMA in his possession. Authorities report he was waiting to meet clients at the time of his arrest.
Excise officials state that Mirshad led a local drug peddling gang operating in the Puthuppadi and Thamarassery areas. His arrest follows the recent death of Shanid, a close friend, who died after ingesting MDMA while attempting to evade police. The investigation is ongoing.
