HYDERABAD, INDIA – Hyderabad police have intensified their investigation into the promotion of illegal betting apps, questioning actresses Vishnu Priya and Ritu Chaudhary for an extended period. The two actresses were questioned together at the Panjagutta police station.
Vishnu Priya reportedly admitted to promoting three betting apps, but claimed she couldn’t recall promoting fifteen others, despite police having information to the contrary. Police are now gathering details of the money she received for these promotions, including bank statements. She has been instructed to bring complete bank statements for a subsequent questioning.
Meanwhile, Miyapur police are also investigating the matter, examining contracts celebrities signed to promote these apps. Police are prepared to take action against apps operating in states where they are banned, and against celebrities who knowingly promoted such apps, including social media influencers. Those directly involved in promoting betting apps can expect notices and further questioning.
