**Hyderabad, March 20** – Telangana, currently experiencing a severe heatwave, is bracing for another weather challenge: hailstorm activity. The Hyderabad Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert, warning of hailstones, thunderstorms, and strong winds across the state over the next four days.

The worst affected areas are expected to be Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jagtial, Mulugu, and Warangal districts. The strongest storms, including hail, are predicted for Friday and Saturday.

Northern Telangana has already seen the onset of rain and thunderstorms in some areas on Thursday, with lightning reported in several locations. The Met department predicts a high probability of thunderstorms and rain, accompanied by strong winds, in several districts, including Nirmal, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, and Adilabad within the next few hours. Asifabad, Jagtial, and Sircilla are expected to experience stormy conditions overnight.

The orange alert specifically warns of hailstones and winds gusting up to 40-50 kmph in several districts on Friday, including Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, and Jayashankar Bhupalapally. Other districts are expected to experience thunderstorms and strong winds (30-40 kmph). A yellow alert has been issued for several other districts, indicating a lesser but still significant risk of thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds.

The Met department urges residents to take necessary precautions and stay updated on weather forecasts.
