**Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh:** Andhra Pradesh, currently experiencing a severe heatwave, is expected to receive some respite in the coming days. The state’s meteorological department has forecast light to moderate rain in several areas from Saturday to Monday.
Temperatures soared this week, with Dornala in Nandyal district recording a high of 40.3 degrees Celsius on Thursday. Ontimidta in YSR district and Laddigari in Kurnool district also recorded high temperatures of 40.2 and 40.1 degrees Celsius respectively. Heatwave conditions affected 30 mandals in the state.
The weather department also predicts winds gusting at 40-50 km/h and thunderstorms during the predicted rain period. The forecast offers a much-needed break from the intense heat affecting the state.
