**Warangal, Telangana, March 19, 2025** – Warangal police have arrested six individuals, including a woman, for allegedly luring orphan girls into drug addiction and forcing them into prostitution. The gang, led by Musku Latha (38) from Hanumakonda district, targeted vulnerable school-going girls, primarily orphans.

According to Warangal Police Commissioner Sanpreet Singh, Latha formed a gang with Abdul Apnan, Sheikh Sailani Baba, Mohammed Altaf, and a ganja smuggler identified as Vadud. They used social media, specifically Instagram, to identify and befriend their victims. One ninth-grader was targeted, given ganja repeatedly, and subsequently exploited. The girl’s disappearance prompted her family to file a police report, leading to the investigation and subsequent arrests.

Police investigations revealed that Sailani Baba raped the victim and threatened to release videos of the assault online if she refused to cooperate further. The gang was apprehended after a search operation.

During the raid, authorities seized 1.8 kg of ganja, 4,300 condom packets, ₹75,000 in cash, and a car. Apnan, Sailani, Altaf, and Vadud have prior criminal records, including POSCO and SC/ST Atrocity Act cases. All six accused have been charged under relevant sections of the POCSO Act, NDPS Act, and the Immoral Trafficking Prevention Act. They have been remanded in judicial custody. The successful operation highlights the police’s commitment to protecting vulnerable children and bringing perpetrators of such heinous crimes to justice.
