**Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh:** A tragic double tragedy struck a family in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, as a man returning home after learning of his wife’s death was killed in a road accident. Sanjay (28), a laborer working in Punjab, was riding his motorcycle with his younger brother, Rinku (22), when they were hit by an unidentified vehicle on National Highway-24 near Mirganj late Monday night.
Sanjay died at the scene, while Rinku sustained serious injuries and is currently hospitalized in Bareilly. The accident occurred as the brothers rushed home after receiving the devastating news of Sanjay’s wife Pooja’s death during childbirth. Pooja, who was expecting their second child, died on Monday while giving birth at a Bahraich hospital. The couple’s four-year-old daughter is now orphaned.
Superintendent of Police (North) Mukesh Chandra Mishra stated that a case has been registered against the unidentified driver and police are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the vehicle involved. Sanjay’s body has been sent to Bahraich for a post-mortem, and the family has decided to hold a joint funeral for both Sanjay and Pooja. The family’s joy at the impending arrival of a second child was tragically overshadowed by the double loss.
