**KOCHI, March 19, 2025** – Kochi police and excise officials conducted a major drug bust on Wednesday, seizing nearly eight kilograms of suspected ganja and arresting three individuals in three separate incidents.
In the first incident, the North Paravur Excise range apprehended Neelu Deuri, an Odisha resident, with 1.25 kilograms of ganja in Manjali during Operation Clean Slate. Deuri’s accomplice escaped and is currently being sought by authorities.
Separately, Nedumbassery police arrested Deepu Mandal, a 24-year-old from West Bengal, possessing 1.30 kilograms of ganja in Desom. A weighing machine was also confiscated. This arrest follows a similar seizure of approximately four kilograms of ganja on Tuesday.
Finally, Kochi city police arrested Imadul Sekh, also from West Bengal, in Chittethukara, Kakkanad, with 4.99 kilograms of ganja.
The combined seizures underscore a significant effort to combat drug trafficking in the Kochi region. Investigations are ongoing.
