BENGALURU, March 19, 2025 – Bengaluru will host its first QRave, a club night featuring exclusively queer and women DJs and music producers, on March 21st at The Burrow. The event, launched in Goa in December 2023 by Chutney Mary (Avril Unger) and Mo’Homo (Aadhi), aims to challenge the male-dominated landscape of the Indian electronic music scene.
QRave’s Bengaluru debut will feature sets by Kandy Kuri, Pardafash (Sandhya Visvanathan), and Chutney Mary. The organizers emphasize creating a safe and inclusive space, not just for performers but also for the audience, through staff sensitization and a focus on inclusivity.
Chutney Mary highlighted the historical lack of mainstream venues for queer events and the ongoing efforts to change the dynamics of the club scene. Pardafash, a newcomer to DJing, expressed excitement about performing at QRave and contributing to a more diverse and representative music landscape.
The event promises a varied musical experience, encompassing genres like footwork, electropop, UK garage, experimental electronic music, dance music, and acid house, from both established and emerging artists. Tickets are available on sortmyscene.com.
