**Villupuram, Tamil Nadu – March 20, 2025** – A Municipal Sanitary Inspector in Villupuram was arrested on Tuesday by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) for demanding and accepting a bribe. Madankumar, the inspector, allegedly solicited ₹10,000 from Kathamuthu, 58, to issue a death certificate for his father, Abimannan.

Kathamuthu filed a complaint with the DVAC after Madankumar’s demand. The inspector was apprehended while accepting chemically-treated currency notes at Kathamuthu’s residence. The DVAC is currently conducting further investigations into the matter.
