Tue Mar 18 20:09:17 UTC 2025: ## Elderly Couple Found Murdered in Northwest Delhi Home; Attendant Missing

**NEW DELHI –** A 70-year-old man and his wife were found murdered in their home in the Kohat Enclave area of northwest Delhi, police confirmed Tuesday. Mohinder Singh, a readymade garment shop owner, and his wife, Diljeet Kaur, were discovered deceased in their third-floor apartment, showing signs of decomposition indicating they had been dead for approximately two to three days.

Police responded to a call reporting a foul odor emanating from the house. Upon entering, officers found Singh’s body in one room and his wife’s in another. Preliminary investigations suggest Singh was strangled with an oxygen pipe, while Kaur was struck on the head with an iron rod. An attempt had also been made to break into a locker inside the residence.

The couple’s sons, who live nearby, were alerted to the tragedy by their family driver after failing to reach their parents. They had not seen their parents in three days.

Police have identified a key suspect: a night attendant, Ravi, who had worked for the couple for some time. Three days before the murders, Ravi requested leave and hired a replacement, a man the family had never met. This replacement attendant is currently missing and is a primary focus of the police investigation. Police are also pursuing Ravi.

The incident follows a separate robbery Monday in which a Delhi University professor, his wife, and their house help were tied up by robbers in their northwest Delhi home. The robbers escaped with gold ornaments and other valuables. Investigations into both crimes are underway.
