**New York, NY** – A24’s highly anticipated new film, “Materialists,” promises a captivating romantic comedy featuring a complex love triangle. The film, directed by Celine Song (director of the Oscar-nominated “Past Lives”), stars Dakota Johnson as a successful New York City matchmaker whose professional life intertwines with her messy personal relationships.

Johnson’s character, Lucy, finds herself caught between her ex-boyfriend John (Chris Evans) and a new potential love interest, Randy (Pedro Pascal). The trailer hints at a toxic dynamic as Evans and Pascal’s characters compete for Lucy’s affection, creating tension that even spills over into her professional life.

The official synopsis describes the film as a story of a young, ambitious matchmaker torn between the “perfect match” and her “imperfect ex.” Supporting roles are filled by Marin Ireland, Louisa Jacobson, Zoe Winters, Sawyer Spielberg, and Dasha Nekrasova.

“Materialists” marks Song’s second feature film and follows the success of “Past Lives.” The film is slated for release in theaters on June 13th. This latest project from A24 follows recent releases including “On Becoming a Guinea Fowl,” “Opus,” and “Death of a Unicorn.” Evans will next appear in “Honey Don’t!”, while Pascal returns for “The Last of Us” season 2 and debuts as Mister Fantastic in “The Fantastic Four: First Steps.” Johnson also has the upcoming comedy “Splitsville” in the works.
