**Vijayawada, March 19, 2025** – The Andhra Pradesh government has approved ₹22,608 crore (approximately US$2.7 billion) worth of infrastructure projects in Amaravati, the state’s planned capital. The approval, announced Wednesday, authorizes the Capital Region Development Authority (AP CRDA) Commissioner to finalize contracts with the lowest bidders for 22 works.
The projects, approved at a March 11 CRDA meeting, encompass a wide range of infrastructure development, primarily focusing on the construction of infrastructure in various Low-Income Population (LPS) layouts across different zones within Amaravati. Major contracts include the completion of quarters for MLAs, MLCs, and All India Services Officers (awarded to NCC Limited), the construction of bungalows for ministers and judges (BSR Infratech India Limited), and numerous LPS layout infrastructure projects awarded to BSR Infratech Limited, RVR Projects Pvt. Ltd., Megha Engineering & Infrastructure Limited (MEIL), Larsen & Toubro Ltd., and NCC Limited.
The government order, issued by Principal Secretary (Municipal Administration & Urban Development) S. Suresh Kumar, signifies a significant step forward in the development of Amaravati. The scale of the projects underscores the state’s commitment to its planned capital city’s infrastructure development.
