**Chennai, March 19, 2025** – Chennai Mayor R. Priya today presented the Greater Chennai Corporation’s budget for the fiscal year 2025-26, totaling ₹8,404.7 crore. The budget projects total receipts of ₹8,267.17 crore. A significant portion of the budget, ₹3,191 crore, is earmarked for capital expenditure.

Key allocations within the capital expenditure include: ₹1,032 crore for storm water drainage improvements; ₹628 crore for upgrading bus route roads; ₹413 crore for building projects; ₹352 crore for solid waste management initiatives; and substantial sums for zonal improvements, special projects, bridge construction, and other infrastructure projects.
