Wed Mar 19 00:40:00 UTC 2025: **UNC Football Coach Belichick Fuels March Madness Spirit with Pizza Deliveries**

CHAPEL HILL, NC – University of North Carolina football coach Bill Belichick took a break from his gridiron duties this week to show his support for the Tar Heels’ basketball teams as March Madness tips off. In a gesture that’s become something of a tradition, Belichick orchestrated pizza deliveries to several UNC fraternities in advance of the men’s team’s First Four game against San Diego State. He also made a personal appearance, delivering pizzas to the UNC women’s basketball team and offering words of encouragement before their first-round matchup against Oregon State.

“It’s honestly a pleasure to be here, an honor to be here,” Belichick told the women’s team. “We want to support you guys this weekend, I know you got a big one coming up… We’ll be here pulling for you on Saturday. Want to wish you the best and congratulations on being a No. 3 seed.”

This isn’t Belichick’s first pizza-fueled morale boost. He previously sent pizzas to fraternities before a UNC-Duke basketball game in January. The coach, known for his intense focus on the field, is clearly embracing the broader UNC community and fostering school spirit ahead of his first season coaching the Tar Heels football team, which kicks off against TCU on September 1st.
