HYDERABAD, INDIA – Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar launched a scathing attack on the Telangana budget presented by the Congress government, dismissing it as “total trash” and “Om Bhoom Bush” – a phrase suggesting meaningless rhetoric. Kumar accused the Congress of exceeding the previous government’s record in “lies, figures, and debt,” claiming the budget dashed hopes for the party’s six election guarantees.

He criticized the budget’s lack of coherence between allocations and implementation, stating that the Congress government failed to deliver even 10% of its manifesto promises. He specifically condemned the inadequate allocations for education and healthcare, describing the budget as a betrayal of students’ futures and farmers’ interests. Kumar further alleged that the budget ignored promises of 200,000 jobs, ₹4,000 unemployment allowance, and an increase in old-age pensions.

Kumar compared the Congress leaders to Goebbels, accusing them of spreading blatant lies and manipulating figures. He highlighted discrepancies between past budget allocations and expenditures, alleging that the current budget is a deceptive attempt to mislead the people of Telangana. He pointed out that the budget boasts of increased per capita income while neglecting to detail the rising debt burden on each citizen. Kumar concluded that the budget demonstrates the Congress party’s disregard for its election manifesto promises.
