New Delhi, March 17, 2025 – US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard is in India on a two-and-a-half-day visit, holding high-level security talks with Indian officials. Her trip, which follows a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi last month, marks the first high-level visit to India by a top official from the Trump administration.
Gabbard, who arrived Sunday, met with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval to discuss strengthening intelligence sharing and cooperation within the India-US global strategic partnership. The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of a conclave of global intelligence chiefs, focused on combating terrorism and transnational crime. The conclave, chaired by Doval, also included the Canadian spy chief. Details of the closed-door discussions remain undisclosed.
Later today, Gabbard is scheduled to meet with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh at South Block to discuss matters of mutual interest. This is her second international trip since assuming her current position, following a recent visit to the Munich Security Conference.
