New Delhi, March 17, 2025 – US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard is in India on a two-and-a-half-day visit, holding high-level security talks with Indian officials. Her trip, which follows a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi last month, marks the first high-level visit to India by a top official from the Trump administration.
Gabbard, who arrived Sunday, met with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval to discuss strengthening intelligence sharing and cooperation within the India-US global strategic partnership. The meeting, which took place on the sidelines of a conclave of global intelligence chiefs, focused on combating terrorism and transnational crime. The conclave, chaired by Doval, also included the Canadian spy chief. Details of the closed-door discussions remain undisclosed.
Later today, Gabbard is scheduled to meet with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh at South Block to discuss matters of mutual interest. Gabbard’s visit includes a speech at the Raisina Dialogue on Tuesday and is part of a broader tour encompassing Japan, Thailand, and France. This is her second international trip since assuming her current position, following a recent visit to the Munich Security Conference.
