Imphal, Manipur – March 17, 2025 – Security forces in Manipur conducted a successful operation, seizing a significant cache of weapons in Bishnupur district. The recovered arsenal includes one 5.56 mm Insas rifle, two 9 mm carbine machine guns, one modified .303 sniper rifle with a magnifier scope, one SBBL gun, one pistol, four hand grenades, and various cartridges. The discovery was made Sunday near Uyok forest.
Authorities report ongoing intelligence-based combing and cordon-and-search operations across both hill and valley districts to recover all looted and illegal firearms. Meanwhile, security forces facilitated the safe passage of 475 vehicles carrying essential supplies along National Highway 2, which connects Imphal to Dimapur. Stringent security measures, including convoys in sensitive areas, are in place to maintain the flow of essential goods.
