HYDERABAD, INDIA – The Telangana state government will begin accepting applications for the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme starting Monday, March 17th. The scheme aims to provide self-employment opportunities to youth from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Backward Classes (BC), and minority communities.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Batti Vikramarka, and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar will launch the application process. Applications will be accepted online until April 5th.

Deputy CM Batti Vikramarka recently held a review meeting with officials, emphasizing the scheme’s importance in providing substantial self-employment opportunities to Telangana’s youth. The government plans to allocate over ₹6000 crore to benefit an estimated 500,000 young people. The SC and ST welfare departments have also allocated significant funds to maximize the number of beneficiaries. The BC Corporation has approved a plan to benefit a large number of BC youth, with a target of 150,000 beneficiaries in the first year alone, utilizing the already allocated ₹2000 crore in the budget.

The scheme offers loans in three categories with varying subsidy percentages:

* **Category 1:** Loans up to ₹100,000 with an 80% subsidy.
* **Category 2:** Loans between ₹100,000 and ₹200,000 with a 70% subsidy.
* **Category 3:** Loans between ₹200,000 and ₹300,000 with a 60% subsidy.

The government anticipates a high volume of applications due to the online application process and the significant financial support provided.
