Sun Mar 16 04:17:02 UTC 2025: ## Kohli Advocates for Family’s Presence on Team India Tours

**Mumbai, India** – Cricket superstar Virat Kohli has publicly voiced his support for allowing players’ families to accompany them on international tours. Speaking at the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Innovation Lab Indian Sports Summit, Kohli emphasized the importance of family in maintaining balance and normalcy, particularly during challenging periods.

Kohli’s comments come in response to recent restrictions imposed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) limiting family visits to a maximum of 14 days on tours exceeding 45 days, and up to a week on shorter tours. These restrictions were implemented following India’s loss to Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Kohli argued that the presence of family provides crucial grounding for players, helping them manage the intense pressure of international cricket. He expressed disappointment with the BCCI’s decision, suggesting a lack of understanding regarding the positive impact family support has on players’ well-being and performance.

“It is very difficult to explain… how grounding it is to just come back to your family every time you have something intense,” Kohli stated. He stressed the importance of returning to a normal family life after fulfilling their cricketing responsibilities.

Kohli’s advocacy comes after a successful ICC Champions Trophy campaign where he was the team’s second-highest run-scorer. He is set to feature in the upcoming IPL 2025 season with RCB, aiming for a maiden IPL title and further batting records. His impressive career statistics, including being the IPL’s highest run-scorer, underscore his continued excellence in the sport.
