**Pune, India –** A 34-year-old food delivery rider, Mazhar Jilani Shaikh, died in a hit-and-run incident in Pune’s Undri area early Saturday morning. His pillion passenger sustained injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.
According to Senior Police Inspector Mansingh Patil of the Kalepadal Police Station, the accident occurred around 3 am when an unidentified car struck the motorcycle Shaikh and his friend were riding. The driver fled the scene immediately after the collision.
Shaikh was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Police have registered a case of hit-and-run against an unknown individual and launched a full investigation to identify and apprehend the culprit. The investigation is ongoing.
