**Hyderabad, Telangana, March 16, 2025** – The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Hyderabad and several other districts in Telangana, warning of a significant rise in temperatures. The heatwave is expected to peak on Sunday and Monday, with temperatures potentially reaching 44°C. For the following four days, temperatures across the affected districts are forecast to remain around 40°C.

Hyderabad already experienced a high of 39.6°C yesterday, with areas like Asifnagar particularly affected. Other parts of the city, including Golconda, Musheerabad, Charminar, Bahadurpura, Bandlaguda, Amberpet, Marredpally, Himayatnagar, Shaikpet, Khairatabad, and Saidabad, recorded maximum temperatures around 39°C. However, the highest temperatures in Telangana were recorded in Kumram Bheem and Karimnagar districts, reaching 42.4°C on Saturday.

The orange alert extends to Adilabad, Jagtial, Karimnagar, Komaram Bheem, Mancherial, Nirmal, Peddapalli, and Rajanna Siricilla districts. The IMD advises residents to limit outdoor activities during the peak heat hours. The warning follows a period of unusually high temperatures for March, prompting concerns about the intensity of the approaching summer.

The IMD also issued yellow alerts for other regions experiencing or expected to experience high temperatures, including some areas in northern India where temperatures exceeding 40°C have been recorded. The department urges citizens to take precautions to protect themselves from the extreme heat.
