**Dubai, UAE:** Yuvraj Singh unleashed a vintage display of power hitting, propelling India Masters to a convincing victory over Australia Masters in a thrilling semi-final clash of the Indian Masters League (IML) on Thursday. Singh’s explosive 59 runs off just 30 balls, featuring seven towering sixes and a four, reminded fans of his legendary six sixes in an over against Stuart Broad. His onslaught included three consecutive sixes off Australia’s leg-spinner McGain.
Sachin Tendulkar also contributed significantly, scoring a classy 42 runs off 30 balls, while Stuart Binny (36 off 21) and Yusuf Pathan (23 off 10) provided valuable support. India Masters posted a challenging 220/7.
Australia’s chase was thwarted by a superb bowling performance, spearheaded by Shahbaz Nadeem’s exceptional 4/15. Nadeem dismantled the Australian batting order, claiming crucial wickets including Shane Watson (5), Ben Dunk (21), Nathan Reardon (21), Nathan Coulter-Nile (0), and Ben Hilfenhaus (2). Vinay Kumar also made an early impact, dismissing Watson and Shaun Marsh (21). Stuart Binny added another wicket, further crippling the Australian innings. Despite a brief resurgence by Reardon, Nadeem’s double-wicket maiden sealed Australia’s fate, leaving them struggling at 74/6. Ben Cutting offered late resistance with a 39-run knock before Irfan Pathan ended his innings. Australia were eventually bowled out for a significantly lower score.
India Masters will now face the winner of Friday’s semi-final between Sri Lanka Masters and West Indies Masters in the IML final.
