**Bengaluru, March 14, 2025** – Padma Bhushan awardee Begum Parveen Sultana, renowned for her exceptional vocal range and soulful renditions, will perform in Bengaluru on March 15th as part of the Holi Re! – A Spectacular Evening of Music and Dance. The concert, hosted by Bhoomija and Prestige Centre for Performing Arts, promises a captivating experience for music lovers.

In an exclusive interview with *The Hindu*, Sultana reflected on her illustrious career, crediting her father, Ikramul Majid, guru Chinmoy Lahiri, and Ustad Dilshad Khan as pivotal figures in shaping her musical journey. She highlighted her upcoming performance of a Meera bhajan composed by her husband and guru, Ustad Dilshad Khan, whom she collaborated with extensively throughout her career, notably in their pioneering husband-wife jugalbandi at the Sawai Gandharva Music Festival.

Sultana also discussed her foray into playback singing, beginning at the age of 15 with the iconic song “Kaun Gali Gayo” from Pakeezah. While acknowledging her successful film career, encompassing collaborations with renowned composers like Naushad, Madan Mohan, and R.D. Burman, she emphasized her deep commitment to classical music, stating that it holds a timeless quality unlike much film music.
