Fri Mar 14 10:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Oprah’s Book Club Picks Groundbreaking Memoir About Trauma and Healing

**CHICAGO** – Oprah Winfrey announced her March Book Club selection: *The Tell*, a powerful memoir by Amy Griffin detailing her journey of uncovering repressed childhood trauma and achieving healing through psychedelic-assisted therapy.

Griffin, the successful founder of an investment firm, seemingly had a perfect life. However, beneath the surface, she battled hidden trauma. Her memoir chronicles her path to confronting this trauma, aided by psychedelic therapy, ultimately leading to personal transformation and a life of authentic joy.

“I was just floored when I read Amy’s story,” Oprah shared on CBS Mornings. “What she discovered about herself, her past made me recognize how powerful the desire to forget is and also how powerful the desire to remember is and how your life can change when you reconcile the two.”

Griffin expressed her astonishment at Oprah’s selection, stating, “When Oprah called, I forgot every word I’d planned to say. All I know is that I was in my closet, thinking, is this really happening?”

*The Tell* is the latest selection in Oprah’s ongoing partnership with Starbucks, which includes author interviews and specially paired Starbucks beverages. Oprah and Griffin discussed the memoir’s themes of recovery and reinvention in a conversation available on Oprah’s YouTube channel, Spotify, and other podcast platforms.
