**Thrissur, Kerala – March 14, 2025** – The Thrissur East police have arrested the main accused in an investment fraud case involving over ₹53.5 lakh. Chandrashekharan, 49, a resident of Ganeshapuram, Namakkal, Tamil Nadu, was apprehended in Tamil Nadu following an investigation that began in July 2023.
Chandrashekharan, operating under the company YESSIXX Traders, allegedly lured 18 individuals into investing in his green tea business with promises of high returns and bank guarantees. The company used tactics including displaying Ooty-sourced green tea and providing bank guarantees to a select few to build credibility. A commission-based referral scheme further fueled the scam.
After victims failed to receive the promised returns, a complaint was filed with the Thrissur East police station. A subsequent investigation led to Chandrashekharan’s arrest. He has been presented before a court and remanded. The investigating team was led by Assistant Commissioner Saleesh N. Shankaran and included officers from the East police station.
