**Lucknow, [Date of Publication]** – The Uttar Pradesh government has released the results for its highly anticipated 60,000 constable recruitment exam. A total of 4.8 million candidates competed for 60,244 positions. The results show 12,048 women and 48,196 men have successfully cleared the written examination.

The written exam, held in August 2024 across ten shifts, consisted of 150 questions with a total score of 300 and a negative marking system (-0.25 for each incorrect answer). A surprising outcome is the lower cutoff for male candidates in the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category compared to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category; the EWS cutoff for males was 209, while the OBC cutoff for males was 216. The cutoff for females in EWS was 193, and 200 for OBC.

Approximately three times the number of positions available (174,316 candidates) passed the written exam and were called for physical tests conducted between February 10th and 27th, 2025. The final merit list was prepared based on normalized scores and reservation rules.
