**Ganjbasoda, [Date]:** Residents of Ganjbasoda Tehsil are facing significant difficulties updating and obtaining Aadhaar cards due to the closure of one of the two designated centers and persistent long queues at the remaining operational center.
The functional center, located within the Janpad complex, was found closed on Wednesday, despite issuing tokens between 9 am and 10 am for processing starting at 11 am. Even with tokens, residents report waiting for hours, with many forced to return home without completing their applications. Long queues of women are also frequently observed.
Aadhaar operator Sankalpi Shrivas explained that while work is conducted on a token system, the volume of applications surpasses the center’s daily capacity. Arvind Gurjar and Prahlad Kushwaha recounted their struggles, having visited the center for three consecutive days without success.
Concerns were raised about the impact on school children who require updated Aadhaar cards for government schemes. Vinod Ahirawat highlighted the difficulties faced by students due to delays.
The situation is further exacerbated by the prolonged closure of a second Aadhaar center, despite assurances from the SDM two months ago that it would soon reopen. No action has yet been taken. The lack of functioning centers is causing considerable inconvenience and frustration for the people of Ganjbasoda Tehsil.
