**Hyderabad, India** – A social activist has filed a complaint against veteran Telugu actor Mohan Babu, alleging his involvement in the 2004 helicopter crash that killed Kannada actress Soundarya. The complaint, filed 22 years after the incident, claims Babu’s actions led to the death of Soundarya, who was pregnant at the time, and her brother.
The activist, from Khammam district, alleges Babu pressured Soundarya to sell a six-acre guest house in Jallepalli, a request refused by her brother, Amarnath. Both Soundarya and Amarnath were killed when their helicopter crashed while campaigning for a Telangana-based party. The activist further claims Babu has since been using the guest house and has threatened him for filing the complaint, prompting a request for police protection.
The complaint lacks concrete evidence directly linking Babu to the crash itself, which occurred without leaving any clear indication of foul play. However, the activist demands a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident and the alleged property dispute. He also requests the government seize the guest house in Jallepalli.
Mohan Babu, known for his villainous roles in numerous South Indian films, has yet to respond to these allegations. The police are currently reviewing the complaint.
