Wed Mar 12 06:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Telangana Assembly Budget Session Begins Tomorrow Amidst Tight Security
**Hyderabad, [Date]:** The Telangana Assembly’s budget session is set to commence tomorrow, under a three-tier security blanket. Police have strictly prohibited protests, rallies, and demonstrations near the Assembly. Governor’s address to both houses is scheduled for 11 AM tomorrow, followed by a possible adjournment of the Assembly.
Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Batti Vikramarka, announced that the annual budget will be presented on the 19th or 20th of this month. Extensive preparations are underway, with the Deputy CM and ministers holding meetings with officials from various departments to finalize budgetary allocations. The state budget is expected to be around ₹3.2 lakh crore.
The government aims to significantly increase revenue from liquor sales this year, targeting ₹60,000 crore, compared to approximately ₹40,000 crore last year. The Excise Minister recently held a review meeting and issued key directives to boost revenue streams.
Key issues slated for discussion include the SC sub-categorization, BC reservations bills (recently approved by the cabinet), a resolution on the delimitation process, and the development of the Future City, for which a special development authority has been approved.
BRS Working President, K.T. Rama Rao, confirmed that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao will attend the Assembly sessions, sparking widespread interest. However, Congress leaders have filed a complaint with the Assembly Speaker and Secretary, demanding that Mr. Rao’s salary be withheld and recovered for his alleged non-attendance at Assembly sessions despite receiving opposition leader’s allowance.
