**Bengaluru, March 12, 2025** – Multi-lingual rapper Karthik Sundar Gubbi, known professionally as Gubbi, will perform at the upcoming RuPay Zomaland food and music festival in Bengaluru on March 15th and 16th. The self-taught artist, who raps in Kannada, English, Hindi, and German, is known for his lyrical dexterity and incorporation of local influences into his music.
Gubbi, a former mechanical engineer who traded numbers for rhythm, has been rapping since 2007. His extensive discography includes numerous singles and albums, as well as contributions to several Kannada and Tamil films. He cites Eminem as a major influence but has developed a unique style incorporating elements of local languages and addressing a range of topics from humorous observations to serious social issues.
His work demonstrates the versatility of rap, encompassing celebratory and rebellious themes alongside pieces exploring pain, pathos, and social commentary. Notable examples include “Lathi In Charge,” addressing police brutality, and “Goodbye,” a collaboration with a NIMHANS doctor created for Suicide Prevention Day.
