Wed Mar 12 05:30:00 UTC 2025: ## De Niro’s Ex-Wife Sells Luxurious Central Park West Co-op for $18 Million

**New York, NY** – Grace Hightower, ex-wife of Robert De Niro, has sold the couple’s opulent Central Park West co-op for $18 million, marking a loss on their initial $20.9 million investment in 2006. The five-bedroom duplex, located in the prestigious Brentmore building at 88 Central Park West, was listed in May for $20 million and went into contract in December after a six-month listing period. The sale closed on March 5th, according to The Real Deal.

The 5,700-square-foot residence underwent extensive renovations after a devastating 2012 fire, forcing Hightower and De Niro to relocate temporarily. The property boasts stunning park views, a primary bedroom with three walk-in closets, and a spacious lower level with living, dining, and kitchen areas. Interestingly, the unit was previously owned by film producer Harvey Weinstein, a fact Hightower playfully declined to comment on to the Wall Street Journal.

The sale reflects a softening in the luxury co-op market, with recent data from Miller Samuel showing a decline in median prices for larger units. This downturn, coupled with De Niro’s publicized financial challenges in recent years, likely contributed to the sale price falling below the asking price. Hightower, an actress and philanthropist, has indicated her next home will be a more nature-focused environment, reflecting her Mississippi roots. The Brentmore building, home to other notable residents such as Sting and Annie Leibovitz, continues to attract high-profile individuals.
