Wed Mar 12 11:39:31 UTC 2025: ## NGT Demands Evidence from Activist Challenging Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat Expansion
**Mumbai, March 12, 2025** – The National Green Tribunal (NGT)’s Western Zone Bench has given Mumbai-based activist Santosh Daundkar four weeks to provide evidence supporting his claims of illegal construction at Shah Rukh Khan’s Mumbai mansion, Mannat. Daundkar’s appeal alleges violations of coastal regulations and environmental laws in the renovation and expansion of the six-storey building.
Daundkar accuses Shah Rukh Khan and the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) of several irregularities, including: unauthorized demolition of heritage structures, obtaining illegal Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearance for adding two floors, and constructing a basement exceeding permitted limits. He also alleges the project violated the Urban Land (Ceiling and Regulation) Act of 1976.
The NGT’s order states that failure to provide sufficient evidence within the four-week timeframe will result in the dismissal of Daundkar’s appeal. The activist’s claims include the removal of an art gallery reservation without proper authorization and the illegal construction in a CRZ-I area. The NGT has requested specific evidence detailing these alleged violations.
