Wed Mar 12 06:30:00 UTC 2025: **Telangana Assembly Budget Session Begins with Governor’s Indirect Criticism of KCR**

Hyderabad, March 12, 2025 – The Telangana Assembly Budget Session commenced today with Governor Jishnu Dev Varma delivering an address that included indirect criticism of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). While the Governor urged all members to attend the session and participate in budget discussions, his remarks were interpreted by some as a subtle rebuke of KCR’s absence.

The session was disrupted by BRS MLAs who raised slogans protesting the government’s failure to deliver on promises like loan waivers, Rythu Bharosa (farmer support scheme), and a ₹500 bonus for paddy farmers. These protests repeatedly interrupted the Governor’s speech. Increased security measures were in place around the assembly. The Governor’s speech also reportedly addressed the government’s response to the ongoing CID investigation involving Vijay Sai Reddy.
