The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is constructing three new textile parks across the state – in Anantapur, Nellore, and Guntur – totaling over ₹310 crore under the Scheme for Integrated Textile Parks (SITP). This follows the recent completion of a textile park in Visakhapatnam, costing ₹134.41 crore.
Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Jitin Prasada, announced the investment in Lok Sabha, responding to a query from Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy. The individual park investments are ₹102.27 crore for Anantapur, ₹103.44 crore for Nellore, and ₹105.12 crore for Guntur.
Beyond the textile parks, the Ministry of MSME is allocating ₹49.66 crore for infrastructure development projects in Andhra Pradesh under the Micro and Small Enterprises Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP). Furthermore, three projects under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP) have been approved for the state, with over ₹531.36 crore released through the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT) in the last five years. These combined investments are expected to significantly boost exports, create numerous employment opportunities, and attract further investment in the state.
