**Hyderabad, March 11, 2025** – The Telangana government announced a new ₹6,000 crore self-employment scheme, Rajiv Yuva Vikasam, aimed at providing financial assistance to five lakh unemployed youth from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, and minority communities. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka stated that the scheme addresses the alleged neglect of youth employment under the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government.

Each beneficiary will receive ₹3 lakh to start their own business. The scheme’s notification will be released on March 15th, with online applications accepted until April 5th. Selection of beneficiaries will occur between April 6th and May 31st, with sanction letters distributed on June 2nd, Telangana’s formation day. Officials are tasked with developing guidelines for the scheme’s effective implementation. The government frames Rajiv Yuva Vikasam as a demonstration of its commitment to supporting unemployed youth.
