Tue Mar 11 00:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Billionaire Musk Accuses Soros, Hoffman, and ActBlue of Orchestrating Tesla Protests

**NEW YORK** – Elon Musk, the world’s richest person, has accused fellow billionaires George Soros and Reid Hoffman, along with the Democratic fundraising platform ActBlue, of orchestrating recent protests targeting Tesla. Musk cited an unspecified “investigation” as the source of his claim, but provided no further evidence to support his allegations.

Protests against Tesla have sprung up across the US and internationally, with demonstrators outside dealerships chanting slogans like “We need clean air, not another billionaire” and “Elon Musk has got to go.” Hundreds participated in demonstrations in Portland, Oregon, and New York City, while smaller protests occurred in cities including London and Barcelona. Many protests appear linked to the “Tesla Takedown” website, which encourages boycotts and picket lines.

Musk’s accusations, posted on X (formerly Twitter), specifically implicated ActBlue, the Democratic Socialists of America, and other Democratic-affiliated groups. He misleadingly described these groups as “ActBlue-funded,” despite ActBlue serving as a donation platform rather than a direct funding source. Musk’s claims were amplified by right-wing influencers, citing sources that ultimately trace back to Musk’s own post and lacked independent verification.

While the protests express various grievances against Musk, including his involvement with Dogecoin and concerns about environmental impact, no concrete evidence currently links Soros, Hoffman, or ActBlue to their organization. ActBlue has yet to respond to a request for comment. The protests themselves, however, appear to be at least partially organized by groups like the Troublemakers and Disruption Project, listed as sponsors on the “Tesla Takedown” website. The ultimate goal, according to one protest organizer, is to create a shareholder vote of no confidence in Musk.
