Mon Mar 10 19:15:46 UTC 2025: ## AAP Declares Solo Run in Goa and Gujarat Elections

**Panaji, Goa –** Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced it will contest the 2027 Goa and Gujarat assembly elections independently, foregoing any alliance with the Congress party. This declaration was made by senior AAP leader and former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi during a visit to Goa to inaugurate the party’s Margao office.

Atishi cited the Congress’s performance in the 2022 Goa elections, where 8 of their 11 elected MLAs subsequently joined the BJP, as a reason for the decision. She emphasized AAP’s commitment to serving the people, contrasting it with what she characterized as the BJP’s focus on winning elections and accumulating wealth. Atishi also highlighted the BJP’s alleged failure to fulfill its election promises in Delhi, including the promised Rs 2,500 payment to women.

While acknowledging the AAP’s recent defeat in the Delhi assembly elections, Atishi attributed it to alleged BJP tactics including voter intimidation and manipulation. She expressed concern over the BJP’s plans to dismantle social programs initiated by the AAP government in Delhi.

Goa Pradesh Congress Committee president Amit Patkar responded that discussions regarding alliances are premature at this stage, prioritizing party strengthening within each constituency. He noted that the AAP and Congress, along with other opposition parties, currently collaborate in the Goa assembly on people’s issues.
