Sun Mar 09 19:25:15 UTC 2025: ## India Wins Thrilling Champions Trophy Final Against New Zealand

**Dubai, UAE** – India clinched its third ICC Champions Trophy title with a nail-biting four-wicket victory over New Zealand in a thrilling final held in Dubai on Sunday. Chasing a challenging 252, India secured the win with one over to spare, sparking wild celebrations, especially from captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, whose joyous dance with the stumps went viral on social media.

Rohit Sharma led the charge with a crucial half-century (76 runs off 83 balls), his first in an ICC final, laying a strong foundation alongside Shubman Gill (31). Shreyas Iyer also contributed significantly with a 48-run knock. However, New Zealand fought back, taking key wickets, including that of Kohli for just one run. The lower order, however, kept their nerve, with Ravindra Jadeja hitting the winning boundary.

India’s spin attack was instrumental in restricting New Zealand to 251/7. Varun Chakravarthy (2/45) and Kuldeep Yadav (2/40) were particularly effective, while Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel maintained tight economy rates. Despite a late surge from Michael Bracewell (53 not out), New Zealand’s middle order struggled against India’s disciplined bowling.

This victory marks India’s second ICC title win in two years, following their 2024 T20 World Cup triumph. The win also cements India’s dominance in the ICC Champions Trophy, adding to their previous victories in 2002 (shared with Sri Lanka) and 2013.
