**HOUSTON, TX** – The Houston Texans have added veteran wide receiver Braxton Berrios to their roster, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Berrios, 29, agreed to a one-year contract worth $2 million.

Berrios, a former sixth-round pick of the New England Patriots in 2018, has had a somewhat nomadic NFL career. After a brief stint with the Patriots, he joined the New York Jets, eventually signing a two-year, $12 million contract extension. He was later released by the Jets before signing one-year deals with the Miami Dolphins in consecutive seasons.

In 2024, Berrios appeared in six games for Miami, registering no receptions on four targets while contributing on special teams with 103 punt return yards and 76 kick return yards. The Texans are hoping to leverage his special teams experience and veteran presence. The deal represents a significant pay cut for Berrios, who was set to earn a $5.5 million base salary in 2023 before his release from Miami.
