Hyderabad, [Date] – The Telangana government has announced a 25% discount on regularization fees for plots in unauthorized layouts under the Layout Regularization Scheme (LRS). The deadline for availing this discount has been extended to March 31st, 2024. This incentive applies to both the regularization fee and the 14% open space charge, calculated based on the market value as of August 26th, 2020.
The move aims to expedite the LRS process, which has seen a surge in applications since the discount announcement. The government has also relaxed certain conditions. Now, layouts with at least 10% of plots already sold can register the remaining unsold plots. Furthermore, applicants can choose to pay only the regularization fee initially, deferring the open space charge payment until they apply for building permits.
The government has provided a web portal to check fee details and process payments. However, several complaints have emerged regarding website functionality issues. Applicants can check the status of their application and access fee details only after their application receives approval. The portal will display “No Data” until approval is granted.
This significant discount provides substantial relief, especially for plots in areas with high land values, effectively reducing the total payable amount by a quarter. The government hopes the incentive will encourage widespread participation in the regularization scheme.
