Mon Mar 10 15:52:58 UTC 2025: ## PMK Shadow Budget Projects Revenue Surge, Major Job Creation in Tamil Nadu

**Chennai, March 10, 2025** – The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), a BJP ally, unveiled a shadow budget on Monday projecting a significant increase in Tamil Nadu’s revenue and a substantial job creation drive. The budget forecasts a revenue generation of ₹5,43,442 crore, a ₹1,91,602 crore rise compared to the previous fiscal year, primarily attributed to improved utilization of natural mineral resources.

The PMK’s plan includes a ₹50,000 crore debt repayment and a projected surplus of ₹46,319 crore. A key component is the creation of 7.5 lakh government jobs over the next four years, with 2.5 lakh positions filled in the upcoming year targeting the 6.5 lakh existing vacancies. The party also advocates for the reinstatement of the old pension scheme from April 1st and a 246% increase in dearness allowance for State Transport Corporation pensioners. A significant allocation of ₹2.20 lakh crore is proposed for education and healthcare.

The party also voiced its opposition to the three-language formula outlined in the National Education Policy 2020.
