KANSAS CITY, MO – The TCU Horned Frogs will face the Baylor Bears in the Big 12 Women’s Basketball Tournament championship game on Sunday. TCU secured their spot after a 71-65 victory over West Virginia in Saturday’s semifinals, while Baylor edged out Oklahoma State 84-74 in overtime.

This marks TCU’s first-ever appearance in the Big 12 title game, a significant achievement for a team that reached 30 wins for the first time in program history. Their semi-final win saw a balanced scoring attack, with Hailey Van Lith (19 points), Sedona Prince (18 points, 16 rebounds), and Madison Conner (16 points) leading the charge. Coach Mark Campbell attributed the team’s success to the selfless play of Van Lith and Prince.

Baylor, seeking their 12th Big 12 tournament title, relied on a career-high 37-point performance from Aaronette Vonleh in their semi-final win. Despite a slow start, Vonleh’s aggressive play proved decisive in overtime. Coach Nicki Collen praised Vonleh’s performance, highlighting her improved confidence.

The two teams previously met in the final regular season game, with TCU securing a win and claiming the Big 12 regular season title. Sunday’s championship game promises a rematch between these two powerhouse programs.
