**Belagavi, Karnataka, March 10, 2025** – Belagavi police have arrested four individuals in connection with the murder of farmer Sannaramappa Pattar, whose death was initially reported as an accident on February 25th. The accused, Shankar Jadhav, Sultan Killedar, Rahul Bagewadi, and Tipu Mujawar, were apprehended following an investigation into the death that occurred in Katkol near Ramdurg.
According to Superintendent of Police Bheemashankar S. Guled, the motive behind the killing was a dispute over tenancy rights to a seven-acre farm. Jadhav allegedly contracted the other three to murder Pattar, promising a payment of ₹2.5 lakh, of which ₹1.5 lakh was paid upfront. Police investigations, initiated after family members raised suspicions of foul play, revealed that the death was not accidental and that there had been previous attempts on the farmer’s life.
The arrest was made by a police team led by Circle Inspector I.R. Pattanshetti and Sub-Inspector Basavaraj Konnure. The SP commended the investigators for their swift and efficient work in solving the case.
