Sun Mar 09 22:47:35 UTC 2025: ## Andhra Pradesh Sees Temperature Fluctuations: Coastal Dip, Rayalaseema Scorches
**Vijayawada, March 10, 2025** – Andhra Pradesh is experiencing contrasting weather patterns, with coastal districts seeing a slight dip in temperatures after a scorching first week of March, while Rayalaseema continues to bake under intense heat.
Maximum temperatures in the coastal areas fell below 35°C on March 9th, with some areas even recording temperatures below normal. However, Rayalaseema districts, including Nandyal, Kurnool, Kadapa, and Anantapur, experienced maximum temperatures ranging from 38°C to 40°C, with Alamuru in Nandyal district reaching a high of 40.3°C.
While the overall state saw a temperature decrease compared to the previous week, the relief is temporary. The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority has issued a severe heatwave alert for three mandals in Alluri Sitharama Raju district and a heatwave alert for 39 mandals, mostly in Alluri Sitharama Raju and Parvatipuram Manyam districts. This aligns with earlier predictions from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Amaravati, which forecast hotter temperatures in the first and third weeks of March. The authority is urging residents to take precautions against the ongoing heat.
