Mon Mar 10 14:18:06 UTC 2025: ## Kerala High Court Orders Coordinated Action on Aralam Farm Human-Animal Conflicts

**Kochi, March 10, 2025** – The Kerala High Court has directed the state government to establish effective mechanisms for coordinated action to address escalating human-animal conflicts at Aralam Farm. Following a petition highlighting frequent wild animal attacks, the court heard the government’s statement that state, district, and local-level committees have been formed to tackle the issue.

The government informed the court that a state-level committee, chaired by the Chief Minister and including key ministers, has been constituted. A separate official-level committee, headed by the Chief Secretary, comprises representatives from various departments including Home, Forest, Revenue, Local Self-Government, Scheduled Castes and Tribes, and Agriculture.

The court, however, requested a detailed memo outlining the established mechanisms for inter-departmental coordination. The petitioner’s plea included demands for immediate restoration of electric fencing, deployment of 24/7 monitoring or rapid-response teams, and timely repairs to the farm’s boundary wall. The case is ongoing.
