**RANIPETA, March 9, 2025** – A 45-year-old butcher and farmer, K. Srinivasan, was found murdered near his farmland in Rendadi village, near Sholinghur town, on Sunday. Police have launched a major investigation into the killing.
Srinivasan, who ran a meat shop to supplement his income from paddy cultivation, had a criminal record including charges of attempted murder, molestation, and theft. He was reportedly attacked and hacked to death by a gang while tending to his four-acre farm.
Local residents alerted the Sholinghur police, who arrived at the scene with sniffer dogs and fingerprint experts. Srinivasan’s body was sent to the Government Taluk Hospital in Sholinghur for post-mortem.
Ranipet SP Vivekananda Shukla has formed five special teams to apprehend the perpetrators. The investigation is ongoing.
